From the proposed theme and available materials, one is transported to the universe of work and constant change that takes place in a construction field.

The Upside Down representes a phase in the creative process — a step towards the undiscovered; a dynamic that leads to innovation.

Focusing on work uniforms and jeanswear (with the trucker jacket as a base), ideas of change and creation are blended in a dynamic environment that alludes to the deconstruction of garments and their versatility in use.

The presented garments, which won the 2018 edition of this contest, feature graphic patterns created using ribbon and elastic — representing the materials used in construction to aid the creation of building’s structures. Additionally, the application of reflective material reinforce an allusion to safety gear.
